Default Replacing motor mounts

i took the 300d into a mech, and he said i need to replace the motormounts in the car.

About how much does this run?

How easy would it be to do at home, if i got the mounts?

The car shifts hard, and the bottom of the arm rest shakes pretty hard from 1st to 2nd ( tourqe converter? )

I own 1999 Mb E430 which has 94,000 miles on it. Lately, the engine seems to run rough at
stop (laboring) and sound like it has a bad fan clutch, otherwise runs great.I do have a broken motor mount on the left side , could this be the cause ? what do you think what 's wrong /
