Proper Fuel choice

Proper Fuel choice
I just purchased my first MB. It's a 1983 240D. The owners manual says to use #1 or #2 diesel depending on the outdoor temperature. All I see around my neck of the woods is B11. Is this OK to use? Also, I would appreciate any recommendations on what kind of oil to use.

You don't really get to choose. Your local gas station will automatically change once the mercury drops. If you buy it commercially, it will be okay.
For oil, Shell Rotella is highly recommended.

ForcedInduction, is it overkill to add Jet A-1 to the diesel sold this season? I have an '81 300D with roughly 200k miles.
I just followed the owner's manual of using 30% max, for the temp these days (I live in Vancouver, BC). I put 20 ltr. of Jet A-1 and 60 litres of diesel. I don't want to push the engine, so I just did a 25% mix to play safe. Besides, the biggest container I could find is 20 litres.
Cheers.
