Parts availability?
My wife and I are trying to think of a fun, unique car to replace her Cadillac CTS with. The CTS started falling apart around 100,000 miles, parts are very expensive, and to work on several parts of the car you need the Cadillac scan tool. Bottom line, we cant a cool car that I dont need a ton of special tools to work on. Right now we have it narrowed down to an early 80s Volvo, or an early/mid 80s MB diesel. The only thing that really scares me away from cars from this era is parts availability. I had an '82 Saab 900 Turbo that I loved, but some parts were impossible to get. Are parts easy to get, or would I be spending a lot of time in junk yards looking for a part that might or might no be there?
I know that the engines in these MB's are good, but what about the rest of car car? Are there electrical issues, or anything like that? Thanks.
