RE: LOW POWER ISSUE

AS FAR AS I KNOW THE VALVES HAVE NEVER BEEN ADJUSTED, THE CAR SAT FOR 12YRS., I CHANGED THE FILTERS AND DID SOME MINOR MAINTANCE TO GET IT RUNNING. IT RUNS GOOD BUT JUST DOESNT SEEM TO HAVE THE LOW END POWER. I TAKE IT THAT THEY USE SOLID LIFTERS? IS THIS A KNOWN ISSUE TO START OFF W/ DIAG.? WHO KNOWS THE DIESEL THAT WAS IN THE PUMP AND NOZZLES COULD STILL HAVE THAT VARNISH BUILD UP. IVE TRYED USING SOME DIESEL CONDITIONER, AND IT HASNT SEEMED TO WORK.

RE: LOW POWER ISSUE

Adjust the valves and do compression and leakdown tests. Unless the car was properly stored you've probably got indentations on the cylinder walls where the piston rings rusted against them and those are quickly wearing away your rings and eroding your compression.
