Default Lost ignition key

After working on the car, thinking I was going to get bsck to it soon, I left the key in the switch. It was longer than I expected by a couple of days, when I finally did get back to it I found that my 3 and 4 year old daughters had been in the car, and took the keys out for me. No they don't know where they put them. My question. Is there some wat to defeat the lock mechanism without destroying the whole thing while I wait for new keys to be made, or should I just be patient?

The trouble is that the dealer wants $60 for the key, and it's a week to wait, besides being a 2.5 hour trip to go find him. I found a locksmith that said he can cut a key from the door lock. Fortunately the doors and ignition still use the same key.

Is locksmith charging the same cost $60 or the charges are less?
