Default Looking to install manual trans in 1979 240D with automatic

this site is GREAT. Looking for advice on procedure and parts necessary to remove auto trans from my 1979 240D and install a manual transmission and clutch (with clutch pedal, etc). Driveshaft will need to be changed out etc.

Is there someplace on this site which outlines the procedure from start to finish? Thanks!

Thanks for the advice. The 240 does have sentimental value and another interesting twist is that I found two donor cars- a 123 turbodiesel AND a 123 240 with manual trans. I will be doing the labor myself and am excited to undertake this project on. I don't see why a 123 300 Turbo can't be used AND mating that motor to a 4 speed manual. I've seen posts on this site of it being done but no procedure description. Essentially what I'm looking for is a checklist of things to know before undertaking this job but I want to do it so I can say I did it and I think the results would be pretty cool.

The other crazy part of this is that cost is irrelevant. I'm more interested in conquering this project than anything else!

I'm crazy about these cars. And I'm crazy to want to take this project on.

Any help would be much appreciated.
