84 190 MB deisel in 41 ft sailboat . starter has been removed for repair a while back . I want to turn engine . loosen rings etc. ?? remove glow plugs / lube ( liquid wrench / PB Blasters) then turn crank by crank pulley nut ??? any better idea-s ?? . will get starter fix but still want to turn 1st . and drain oil / change filter etc engine has been sitting a while 1-2 yrs

 

Question Is ? Is removeing the glow plugs in order to lube and " No compression" in order to turn by hand the best way ... Ie injectors
R&R better? .. ie they can be cleaned & lube also.. I want quickest
easy way 1st to see IF it will TURN ...
