Default auxiliary fan not working

1985 300sd. my auxiliary fan will not come on. Does anyone know where the relay is located. I am considering just straight wiring it ...any ideas?

i understand that, but if going down the road the a/c blows cold. well as cold as a 25yr old ac unit does. but when i come to a stop sign or light it starts blowing warm to hot air.

I live in Miami where it is always supremely hot and humid as can be year round.

When I bought my wagon the aux fan was already bypassed. Im assuming so that the A/C could blow cold immediately. So when the A/C is on I just activate the aux fan by an inboard switch the previous owner installed and it blows COLD immediately, otherwise it would just blow warm. I have ran her like this for close to a year with out any problems. The only downside of course it that when the A/C aux fan is activated it creates lag (resistance) on the motor because of the compressor.
