Hey Guys,

Hoping for miracle. I have a 1985 Mercedes 300D / California car that I just bought.

My mechanic, a good friend and a 13 year Mercedes Dealer mechanic just went thru some diagnostic for my AC not turning on, and coincidentally my tach not functioning.

He seems to think the EGR Control Unit (003 545 5132) has gone bad. We tried putting in a new AC Climate Relay, checked the rpm sensor and various cheaper items and everything checks out. It seems the EGR CU is not sending the proper signal to the AC Climate Relay (I believe Pin 2)

Mercedes wants $1250.00 for this part, (almost a third what I paid for the car)

Does anyone have a working unit off a car? Any suggestions, any help so I don't have to spend $1250?
