1985 300sd 5cyl.

went to store today and when we (entire family) came out to jump in old reliable and head home would not start.


I had a friend come over and jump off drove approx 20 miles home turned it off and would not start again. Sounds as if its getting power but just not enough.

I checked volts on battery was holding a steady 12.44 volts but would not start car. Put a spare battery i had out of an old volvo in there reading 12.88 volts and started right up time after time.

The battery in the car is only 1 1/2 yrs old.

Is there something else that i should be looking at?
