Tap into e350 sunroof wiring for permanent radar detector mount...
Hello there...I am brand new to Mercedes and this forum - forgive me if somebody has already answered my question.
The purpose of my post is that I am taking delivery of an '06 E350 in 2 weeks and wanted to permanently install my Escort x50 8500 in the upper passenger windshield as in previous vehicles.
Usually it is a matter of popping off the sunroof assembly and tapping to the electrical system that is present for sunroof operation - I do this so that the deterctor is ALWAYS on when the engine is on and there is no (police) visable wiring cluttering up the field of view.
I am looking for some guidance on:
a) How to properly remove the panel that will expose the wires
-and-
b) What the color-code is for the wiring harness - so I tap into the right 12v & ground
