I have a 99 e430 with the stock Bose stereo. Every time i shut the car off the radio keeps playing and never turns off. Dealer says i need a new radio. Is there a DIY solution? THX Mike

 

have you simply tried pulling the fuse to the radio and letting things sit overnight before reconnecting? there should also be a fuse on the back of the radio chassis. try that one as well. if you're desperate, yank the NEG battery cable for a few hrs.....but BEAR IN MIND, that you will probably need to reset the seats, roof, windows....etc....and will need the radio code to make it 'go live' after reconnect. but i'd try the radio fuse first. doing this with hopes that it'll clear the phlem out of its throat.

there are two fuses. either will do the job. if you're lazy, just pull the NEG cable off the battery but be warned that you'll need to remap memory settings and radio code. radio fuse is on back of the radio chassis next to the block connector. another fuse is upstream...is shown on your fuse map. if it's same as my 99 E320, then.....

I have the opposite problem, my radio will come on but volume will not work (up or down)? Dealer also says need to replace, any suggestions?
