Default Need help with CD Player

Hi Friends,
i bought a 2000 model ML 430 recently. The CD player plays 1 out of 10 cd's...I dont understand the problem. When I contacted the dealership guys, they said they dont upgrade the CD player and I need to go with the CD changer...but it was little expensive for me. Can someone please suggest me what to do???Can I get some CD player in cheap from some junkyard and replace it with mine....or servicing my CD player would make it work fine.....please please please help.
Thanks

treat your car right. it deserves the best. get the correct CD changer for it.

it uses D2B (optic fiber) to transmit sound and data, and no aftermarket CD changer got it... not unless you use interface.

save your CD player for navigation disk.

and the correct CD changer is the 6 disk variety....not 10, not sure where you were going with the statement about "1 out of 10" will play.

Thanks SleepWalker and SLMonkey,
By "1 out of 10",I meant to say my CD player plays only 1 cd after I inserted around 10 cd's one after another..so it picks up randomly and plays a CD...otherwise shows "cd error" for rest of them.
OK...I would modify my question a bit after hearing your comments sleepwalker........is there a place where I can get a used Mercedes CD Changer????
Thanks
Mick
