Location of control unit for Nokia Car Kit

Hi folks,
I have just bought a 96 S320 Auto which had a Nokia CARK91 installed (not a factory MB kit)
It works fine, but the signal reception is very weak (less than when the phone is not in the cradle). I am trying to trace back to the control unit to see if the aerial is connected correctly, but I cant see where the control unit is!
Can anyone point me in the right direction? The wires from the cradle and the speaker run in behind the central console just at the right of the passenger footwell (right hand drive remember) ... Its not in the boot or under the back seat ... and I'm not sure how to remove the central console.
Rgds,
Eoin
