Default Ipod Problems

I had an ipod integration kit installed and would plug in my 3rd generation 20GB click-wheel ipod and would work perfectly until the ipod was stolen out of my glovebox at the local Benz dealer. So they replace it with the new 60GB ipod video. Ever since I got the new Ipod I get this strange interference when I am listening to it. The CD players and the radio work fine but as soon as I turn on the ipod this terrible noise comes through the speakers. I take it in to Merecedes and they say that they tried it out with previous model ipods and it worked fine. Does anybody know if this is an isolated problem with my car? or with the Ipod video model? or have ever heard of anything like this?

Any info. or help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I saw a couple of threads about this over on MBWorld.org they both seemed to determine that this was a problem with Video iPods and ended up buying older ipods to solve the problem.

Default RE: Ipod Problems

I didn't have the same issues as reported in the original post, but I did have an iPod kit installed to use with a 60Gig Video iPod. It worked great for a month or two, and then I started to have problems getting the interface to work. I also have had problems with some sort of battery drain ever since this system was installed, and even though the company that originally installed it says they disconnected it from any power source I'm having the same system drain that I had before.

If anyone else has had a similar problem with an iPod kit (don't know if it's just my issue with a C320 or Mercedes in general), I'd love to hear about it.
