Default Unqualified help Aaaaaaaaaaagh!

I have a strong suspicion that someone pulled the pump from the trunk of an 03 S430, thinking it was the suspension pump.

The suspension issue was resolved with a part from e-bay, but it's left (I"m told - haven't seen) trunk lid inoperative. Door locks inoperative, and as it happens, the radio does not work. May be a connection (owch what a pun.)

The young guy reported that it ( the motor/pump, just fell out) the plastic housing has gone missing.

I concluded, though I don't know, that the pump is housed in such a box and strapped to the side of the trunk. The box contains some device to send pressure (or vacuum) to the trunk lid or door mechanisms by perhaps some kind of solenoid actuated valve.

Can the box (with its valves if it has such things) be purchased separately? Or, am I totally wrong and there's no device in the box to sequence the air to different places?

I would also like to know the fuse value and location, though owner's son has checked every fuse he can locate. (I'm wondering if he really checked them or if he just eyeballed them.)

Is there any likelihood of the radio going U/S because of messing with the left trunk area? Again, that fuse value and location would be of great help.

Thganks Rob.
