Default Climate Control EC button stays on. No AC

Why does the EC, Economy Button stay on. I have no AC cool air. Got the EC to go off once but it came back on and won't go off so the compressor isn't engaging. Any ideas

Hello,

That just simply means that you have a low refrigerant level. The ECU simply disengages the compressor automatically whenever it senses low refrigerant level (Freon charge).

Default a/c

My 2005 E500 is blowing hot also, and is low on freon, but I can't get it to take any more. I had it hooked up to a recycling macine, evacuated it after seeing too high of pressures, and it won't take more than 1.5 pounds of freon. Guage pressures are about 82 each side, but it's still blowing hot. How do I get the compressor to engage and take a full freon charge?

Default Same Problem!?

Yikes!
I have a very similar problem. I live in Amarillo, Tx. We do not have a MB dealership and its 95 degrees in the shade! A few months ago the dealer in Dallas diagnosed my '03 E320 with a bad receiver/dryer. After I had a local mechanic replace it, he couldn't get the a/c to accept freon. After finding someone to charge the unit, the a/c is still blowing HOT air!!! Can anyone help!!!?
Any help would be appreciated.

Default "Hard Codes"?

So I take my w211 to a local mechanic that tells me everything is fine with my a/c except some codes that he can clear up. As he tries to "clear" the codes he tells me that only an MB dealership can clear "hard codes".
Does any of this make sense to anyone?
