Hello All,

I'm a new owner of MB E240-2002. Here in Libya we have only one dealer with very limited services in the capital (Tripoli). For the other cities its very dangerous to travel to Tripoli for service due to terrorism & security issues. I'm muslem (my religion is Islam), therefore it is forbidden to use illegal components and software (such copied & cracked) without permissions from the original manufacturer. Therefore I need to get answers to these questions:

1- Is the STAR systems made by China companies (sold for 400$ to 700$) acceptable by mercedes, I think the STAR software in those systems is cracked or copied?

2- All MB softwares can be downloaded from the internet, does MB accept that?

I can not use any cracked or copied software without permission for religion issues, so is there any alternatives in case MB forbid coping or cracking their softwares?

any help is very appreciated?

Note: I have visited the dealer in tripoli and they doesn't have any software or CD's, only car service.
