Locking Scenario?
Follow this locking scenario on our new 99 SLK 230
to lock the doors with the fob:
trunk or passenger door must be open
press lock on the fob
doors and trunk lock
wait 10 seconds (not 9 or 8)
close the door and they stay locked
if i close the door or trunk in less than 10 seconds, everything unlocks.
is this normal or do i have a plumbing issue. the pressure line under the center console was dis-connected from the little plastic unit mounted up inside the console by the lighter, so i re-connected it thinking that may be the issue but to no avail.

Adding to the confusion. We came home last night and opened the trunk to lock the doors. After 10 seconds I closed the trunk and all was right with the world but I noticed that the dome light didn't shut off. I tried locking the doors with the dash "lock" button and everything works (even the dome light). All the door switches work, the fob works, the trunk button works and the dash lock button works fine.
This seems real goofy. Any thoughts would be great.
