Cooling fan (AUX Fan) sensor, ML-320
I have a 1998 , Mercedes ML320.
My questions is , how can I confirm that the cooling fan ( in front of the radiator ) is working. I dont hear the fan running even if I stay 2 hours with the engine on. The car does not overheat but the temperature is between 80 and 90.
If anyone knows how to test the cooling fans , please let me know and where would the sensor be located.
Thanks
Haidar

RE: Cooling fan (AUX Fan) sensor, ML-320
I remember when I checked my auxilliary fans it was in summer and they went on when I turned on the AC but not sure if it was coincidence.
If the fans are not working then I would check the fuze first. On my ML this fuze has blown once already. I was unaware of this until the service guy informed me. If I remember right, he said that there is an upgrade of the wire harness to the aux fans and a swap out to a 40A fuze from a 30A. He said there is no harm in waiving the upgrade, just check the fuze every so often. I opted to check the fuze myself routinely.
