2000 ML320 Headlights
Hey everyone
I have a 2000 ML320 and was wondering if I could replace the stock regular headlights with the optional HID version.
Is the wiring the same? Will it just fit in place of where the stock ones were? I found OEM HID's and was wondering if I could install them as the original ones need replacing anyway. ( by the way I'm replacing the whole assembly)
Thanks

Hi there, I don't understand if you are willing to replace your Headlights Units with the newer ones (after 2002) or you just would like to upgrade the light bulbs to the XENON ones.
I have upgraded both ones (Headlights and bulbs... so I might be able to answer).

Ok, for the lights you can find a cheap but good solution on Ebay. I have bought from Hong Kong the conversion kit. It costed around 150 USD for both sides. I suggest you choose a color of 8000 Candles if you like a brilliant white light with a slight bluwish effect. The lower number you choose (7000, 6000) and the yellowish you get.
The candle color goes up to 14000. Bear at mind that the yellower your light is and the deeper it penetrates in case of fog, the bluer, the shorter sight you'll obtain... so I suggest you stay in the middle.
Once you install these bulbs, you'll decide if you like it enough or if you still want to change also the headlight units.
On my first ML I was really happy with only these and didn't go for the facelift upgrade. On my present ML I have both.
Hope this helps,
