what should I look for when buying a used E320 wagon
Right now we have a 2006 Jetta TDI which replaced an 02 A4 and an 01 Jeep wrangler. We have been looking at different 7 passenger vehicals and the E320 wagon seems to make the best option. Most of the wagons in our price range are 01's or 02's and have 70-90k on the ticker. Is there anything to look for (or look out for) on these modles?

RE: what should I look for when buying a used E320 wagon
I have owned 4 of the E-320 wagons in a row from '98-'04. As Ohlord responded...inspect, inspect, inspect! I will admit that as the car became less MB and part Chrysler it got worse! Look for front end component wear...ball joints, tie rods, control arm and sway bar bushings. HVAC head letters start to fail, and watch out for the catalytic converters rattle loose @ 70-80K! But if the price is right they are a great car for reasonable money. Regards, Bob R.

I am finding that the 01's and 02's are falling somewhere between 10k-15k which is about what we want to spend.
Thanks for the replies and I am going to keep searching to find out as much as possible
