Default Fuel Pump Problems 190E

My 88 190E with a formerly loud whiny fuel pump is suddenly quiet and will not start. I suspected fuel pump had quit but when I checked voltage across both terminals at the fuel pump Ishow no current. Again I checked voltage across both terminals and not voltage to ground but I made the assumption that the wiring going to the pump was + and- and that the pump was not grounded to the chassis. Someone correct me on this if I'm wrong please.

Anyway, is there somesort of fuse / relay for the fuel pump? I checked every fuse in the fuse box and all are passing current properly. Connections aren't green and corroded etc. There are 3 realys in and around the fuse box but nothing in the Owners Manual indicates what these relays power.

I'm hoping problem is a faulty relay or fuse instead of an expensive fuel pump as this car is destined to go up for sale very, very soon.
