Default Foglights blowing & no heat

hi

I have a 2001 clk & I think I have two seperate problems..... first & most important in these freezing conditions is that my heating has gone! It appears that the blower has gone, although I don't think this is the case, as it blows when I test it & short-circuit it?? Or could it possibly be a clogged\dirty pollen filter??
Also, my front fogs has also gone.... when I go to switch them on, it just blows the fuse? Both my bulbs are ok, I'm suspecting some kind of corrosion causing a short??

Any ideas would be great

First where the wires go in to the fog light housing is the prime spot for the wires to corrode and short. check wires there

Second does the blower have full speed or are the bars going up but not the speed of blower . most cause is the blower speed regulator .

Yes the blower power did increase\decrease when raised & lowered.... My mechanic got it working again by cleaning the brushes on the motor & changing the pollen filter, without having to fit the fan module that I had bought!!!

Thanks for the advice on the foglights, I will have a look over the weekend.

Nice one!
