Manual
I have had this 96 S600 W140 for 18 months and would like to find a repair manual for it.
Are these things available? I know Haines don't do them and am a bit reluctant to pay what I expect the dealer would want for the official MB version if these are even available.
Secondly, does anyone know where the battery is on this model? I've had most of the panels off under the hood and can't find it there. I also asked at the last repair shop that fixed the rear suspension for me and they couldn't find it either!
Regards

By the way, that's a nice car.
As for the manuel, try places like Ebay. You likey to find just about anything on Ebay, except for those cars, the repair manuel may actually be a set of CDs. At the dealership, I'm not sure how much they charge now for the W140s, but for my W126 it costed about $200 brand new unused CDs.

Thanks. Don't mind what format the manual comes in, I just like to be able to look up how to fix things when they go wrong.
As regards the battery, there's nothing obvious in the trunk apart from the spare wheel. Haven't figured out how to get the rear seat up, I guess I could try lifting it
Seemed a bit unlikely as it's all wired into various motorised adjustments.

Battery is in trunk, right side. Lift up trunk carpet mat, look to right under a plastic tray top like assembly. Lift this up, see battery. Many use www.alldata.com and it is worthth the small $$ fee.

Mb sells a DVD for $150, the info is good but a little hard to navigate, It contains all the intro to service and service bulletins. It covers all 140 bodies
