I am selling a 1972 280 sel 4.5. Presently, it has some startup issues but I think it is something simple. It has the following new parts: radiator, injector hoses, dist. cap, rotor button, plugs, plug wires, ballast resistor, ignition cotrol unit, coil, oil cooler lines, trans. cooler lines, radiator hoses, fuel filter, trans filter. eventually the car will need the rear end resealed and timing chain. these aren't pressing issues now, but they will eventually need to be addressed. The car also needs a front main seal. I just installed a new thermostat but a leak developed and I managed to strip one of the bolts on the thermostat housing. It's the bottom one that is almost impossible to reach. The interior is in great shape--only one small tear in the front seat. The paint is about 5 years old. I don't know what to ask for the car--I've invested quite a bit but it still needs some work to be great ride. I have documentation on all service on the car since 1972 plus the original manuals, parts catalog and stamped metal plate from original owner. the lowest I can take for the car is 2,000 dollars--that is what it cost just for the radiator and ignition control unit.
