Default [ECU] Short circuit to positive -> What does it mean?

Hello experts,

I have sent my ECU to German for repair. When the ECU has been repaired and returned, I asked my Merc Specialist Mechanic to install the ECU.

But there is an error sounds like this:

"IFZ: Short circuit to positive"

What does it mean? Does it mean the ECU is still faulty and not fully repaired? Or is it something else?

Because of that error, the engine won't start, there is a response of the engine sound though, but the red and green LED on the rear mirror keep blinking. The car doesn't want to start.

Hope to get some advices and recommendation.

Many thanks in advance...your help is highly appreciated.

PS: I missed my car, almost 2 months not working..

"IFZ: Short circuit to positive"
what's the fault code (number) and what car?

why did you let mr. german repair it? what's wrong with it?

Sorry, actually the error was:

"Short circuit to positive"

My car is W202 C200 year 95.

In the first place i sent the ECU to the Mr German because the ECU is faulty (only 2 cylinders work)

Any idea about the error above?

Thanks..

it means that there is a problem with the signal from RCL control module. (remote central locking).

does the door lock open and close using remote key?

the problem is from IFZ control module. check if has power.

here's a simple test to know if it is getting the signal.

connect voltmeter to ecu pin #1 connector 1 (minus), and pin#12 connector 2.

ignition on.

unlock the door > 4-7 volts

lock the door > 2-4 volts.

either than that... your infrared control unit got problem.

If my infrared control unit got problem, does that mean, I need to send the ECU for repair, again?

Where is the infrared control unit situated? In the ECU or in the car key? Or in the rear mirror?

Thanks...

From the picture, its like the IFZ Control Module is neither in the ECU nor in the car key.

But it is near to the passenger pedal?

Do you think the control module has something to do with the rear mirror? Should I check it as well?

Do you think I should check the key battery as well? Is there any possibility the remote key battery is weak, and dont have the capability to unlock the immobilizer?

Confused now..

Thanks in advance...
