I own a 1979 300cd. I know I will need new tires soon. I am thinking of getting bigger rims as well. My question is 1) will larger tires help the stability of the car? moving from 14" to 17" is my consideration 2) is this a universal 5 lug wheel arangement or does MB have some particular odd (expensive) hold on the wheels?

Thoughts?
