My mom purchased a 2001 Mercedes E320 and decided she didnt like it so I told her I would clean it up and get it sold but in the process fell in love with the car. She is selling it to me now for a few bucks a month. I want to change from the original rims and tires 215/55 R 16 and go with some after market 18's but dont now how to go about sizing the tires and have had many shops give me different opinions. I would like to go with 8.5 front and 9.5 rear but how do I know what offset and tire size will work? Also I am planning on lowering the car about 1.6 inches. Has anyone done this and what size tires and what offset did you use. I want to do this right no tire rub or loss of handling! I am 41 years old not 16 looking for a pimp ride! I am looking for the muscle car stance with the wheels tucked and also still get the handling.
