Desperately need HELP I bought WRONG Rims....

Long story short....I hit a pot hole, bent my rim, blew my tire and found out the dealership wanted $400 for one rim. I have a 2004 C320 4Matic with 16" OEM rims. Please forgive me if I am not including all the information needed. I am new to the world of Mercedes and just bought it in August.

I found a complete set of 16" 7 spoke rims (7 1/2J 16H2)on craigslist and got a great deal for all 4. After driving over 400 miles to get themand putting one of them on we realized real quick it was too wide by 1/2". We were already home and were not going to drive back for a refund even if the guy would have given us one. VERY FRUSTRATED and BROKE I am at a loss of what to do. Please offer up any suggestions. They are like new and I just wish they fit. They came off of a 2001E class. Do I sell them? Is there a way to make them fit??

RE: Desperately need HELP I bought WRONG Rims....

From what I could find you bought these type ofrims. The rimsize is: 7.5inches widex 17 inches tallwith an offset of37....which is probably a front rim in the link.

If the rim is sticking out 1/2 inch then the offset is messed up. Recommended size is 7.5 x 17 offset (or ET) of 37mm (FRONT) 8.5 X 17offset (or ET)30mm (REAR).

Since the link I posted above matches the recommended size for the front, I would assume you tried to put on a rear rim first? When the rim is on, does it rub and are you able to put the lug bolts in?

What is the size of the rim on your C-Class? It should say it on the inside of the rim, post everything it has.

Ultimately if it's sticking out there's no way to fix that. As long as it doesn't rub or look silly I would keep the rims. But you might want to relist them, then buy a single rim from eBay...
