Wandering '98 SLK 230
I recently purchased a fine 1998 SLK 230 with about 31,000 miles. The vehicle runs great except it dangerously wanders the road. An experienced MB mechanic told me it is a trait of the early SLKs. I find it hard to believe that MB would produce a car with that problem. Has anyone experienced this issue. Would the addition of sway bars correct the problem?

Welcome to the forum! When you say it 'wanders the road', do you mean it pulls to one side? There may be a need to replace some suspension parts (sway, control arm) or it may need a serious alignment. Does the steering feel loose?

You might also try running a different set of tires on the front to eliminate that as an issue in the chain.
