Default FS: 1987 190D 2.5 Turbo Diesel, Florida, 228K

Hello All,

My brother has a '87 190D Turbo he's trying to sell. He's moving in November and can only take one car. He bought the car in August 2000 at 99k miles and we believe he's the 3rd owner. It currently has just under 228k miles on a working odometer. We have most (maybe 98%) of the service records since he's owned the car. The car is in good shape and needs minor cosmetic items such as the sunvisors. The driver's seat has expected wear associated with the age and mileage on the car. The material on the "B pillar" is coming loose. The carpet on the driver's side by the door sill is also coming undone. The dash is crack free. The rest of the seats are in good shape. Door panels are also in good shape with a little warping on the top which is commonly seen. The exterior is also in good shape with some damage to the front passenger side due to a light fender bender (resulting in a cracked bumper and the chip above the turn signal). The paint is believed to be original and shows its age on the trunk lid and around the small window/door trim (fading and hazing). Paint on the rest of the body and hood and roof are still shiny. There is a little damage to the driver's side rear door due to someone's car door and we had it pulled but a little damage still shows. There are the typical scratches and chips around the whole car- which is expected. There is the smallest amount of rust which is a small bubble under the passenger side rear tail light, some rust forming around two of the jack holes, and a small amount under the passenger front door.

Items currently not working include: the tachometer, the tripometer, the air conditioning (haven't had this checked so we're not sure what's wrong with it), one of the rear windows. To the best of my knowledge the sunroof works; I will have to check. The cruise control works, the vacuum system works, I think the antannae works- I'll check this too. I believe the clock works too and keeps good time- I'll check on this and update theitems I'm not sure about. Also, it has the rare dual power seats- I'll check to see what parts work and don't work and update this.

Mechanically, the car will need the two auxillary fans replaced as they're currently not working (car is not being driven much at all due to this). There is a fuel leak and we're not sure what needs to be done to correct this. I'll check to see if there are oil leaks- assume there are some as most of these old cars do. The transmission was rebuilt about 40k miles ago and shifts good. Michelin tires are in good shape too- they probably have about 30k miles on them except for one which was recently replaced (~10k +/-) due to a flat. The car was updated with a Sony CD Player and an XM Satellite Radio was added a few years ago which has recently been disactivated. All XM items will remain for new owner to activate service if he/she so wishes.

If I think of anything else I'll add it when possible. The car is located in Newberry, Florida just West of Gainesville. I'll try to add some photos, if I can't get them up just e-mail me and I will send you some.

Asking price is $5,000/neg.

I checked all the items I wasn't sure about. This is as they stand today.

Sunroof: Opens and closes smoothly. No skips.
Power Seats: All positions on both seats work with the exception of both headrests.
Windows: Both front windows work. The rear passenger window works but is a little slow. The rear driver's side window is inop and we don't know what needs to be done to get it working.
Clock: Is in working order and keeps track of time.
Antennae: The antennae goes up about half way and stops. It will retract down all the way though.

Still available guys.

I took it out for a spin today to keep fluids running etc... Anyways, I turned the A/C on and it's blowing but just isn't cold. It blows a little weak out the far right vent but the others blow strong. Still don't know what it needs but I'm not going to assume it needs freon. It's winter time anyway. Open the sunroof and enjoy the weather!!!
