FS: 1979 450 SL in Atlanta
1979 Mercedes Benz 450 SL that is brown with light brown leather interior. I am selling it for my grandmother. Comes with a hardtop and a soft top. The soft top looks brand new, my grandmother almost never took the hardtop off because it was too heavy so the soft top never was used.
Currently my grandmother is the SECOND owner and the car has 142,300 miles. The FIRST owner was the wife of the HEAD OF MAINTENANCE at RBM Mercedes here in Buckhead. I have the title in hand, and the original title shows that my grandmother bought the car on July 3, 1986 with 92,374 miles. That means the my grandmother has only put on 50,000 miles in the past 20 years, or only 200 miles a month. It was mostly driven from Buckhead to her job at Agnes Scott College. It has no cracks or tears in the leather as my grandmother conditioned the leather frequently to keep it looking new.
The car is completely original, NEVER WRECKED and I have the complete service record of the car. It has an automatic transmission. It has no rust and only a few small chips in the paint (far less than a 28 year old car would normally have). The stereo is original, sounds as good as any new Bose system.
This car is now a collector car and will only appreciate in value over the years. It is one of Mercedes’ prettiest cars and it just purs when you run it. This car was produced from 1971-1980, and only 66,298 were produced. It has a 4520cc, V8 OHC engine that goes 0-60 in 11 seconds and has a top speed of about 115 mph (not to worry though, my grandmother never drove like that). It weighs 3,600 lbs.
I am happy for anyone to call for more information, pictures, or to set up a date to see it
I probably won't be checking this page much so please email me at caldwellhzimmerman@gmail.com
