The time has come to sell my 300SDL. I figure that the people on this forum would know why this car is desirable. I've had it serviced by a local independent german car specialist.

My wife decided that she wanted a new car. A zippier car with air conditioning that works. So we replaced this car with a Prius.

What works:
1. The engine is excellent. New fuel injectors were put in a couple of years back.
2. The sun roof works. It's enormous.
3. the lights work. the panel lights are pretty dim, but that's standard.
4. The power seats work.
5. We've been careful with the cooling system to make sure nothing overheats.

What doesn't work:
1. the air conditioning. It won't cool. We sunk plenty of money into fixing it, and it works when charged, but dies shortly thereafter. Happily, the windows go down in front.
2. The shifting goes up a bit too fast, so the car is in too high a gear to move quickly off the line from a red light. Not that it ever was a champ in this regard, but I think it can work better.
3. The radio died. It's a Becker! They suuuuuuuck!
4. One of the front wipers needs to be tightened at its base.
5. the Power antenna doesn't move.
6. the front end alignment is slightly off. Will need to replace some worn parts there to get it align properly.
7. the rear drivers side window doesn't work.
8. The front seats could use new spring frames. Someone stuffed foam in the driver side to puff it up, but if you want the correct feel, you'll want the spring box.
9. the odometer stopped at 179,000. I would estimate that to be about 3,000 miles ago.

We replaced the timing chain, vacuum modulator(?), radiator, and other items I've forgotten over the years. This is a great highway car, reasonable mileage, very quiet and powerful, and very very safe.
