For sale is my 1983 300D TURBODIESEL. Currently 174,000 miles with service history from new. It was purchased from the original owner in May 1999 with 55K on the odo and I've maintained the car by the book since purchase. Color is Diamond Blue over Royal Blue MB-Tex. No accident history and the paint is all original.

This car was my daily driver until 3 weeks ago, when I stumbled upon a '98 E320 I simply could not pass up. I hate to see my diesel go, but I just don't have room for it and can't justify the added insurance cost.

I had to replace the motor at 75,612 miles due to water pump failure which caused the original to seize. The replacement was from an '85 with 66,000 miles, acquired from Potomac's MD facility and tested at 420 lbs compression per cylinder. At that time a new battery, water pump, and block heater were installed and the fuel tank was removed, flushed and resealed.

A/C was converted to R134a in June 2003. I most recently replaced the driver's window regulator and motor, all 5 glow plugs, front brakes and rotors, vacuum lock and sway bar links.

I believe in complete disclosure to the point of overkill, so here are all the negatives I know of...

The cruise control works intermittently;
The clock does not work;
Usual dash cracks, but only a few and none extensive, no fading;
Usual parking lot door dings (probably from jealous SUVs);
One crack in the wood trim on the console, otherwise the interior is perfect;
Windscreen has one 3/4" crack and one 1/2" chip;
Small areas of surface rust are starting to show at the trim strip on the doors, otherwise there is absolutely no significant rust on this car and no rust-through;
Small blow-by leak from the turbo;
Burned out light bulb behind the climate control rotary switch;
Right fog lamp lens is broken.

This is a solid, honest, reliable car that has been meticulously cared for with complete history and no major issues. It is still on the upside of its service life and is not far from perfect condition. I'd be driving it for years to come had I not found my E320. I would not hesitate to drive this car anywhere.
