1968 280S Houston $3,500
I must have a crappy
camera or picking bad days to take the shots. I didn't say "mint" condition so I would assume the reader would expect flaws. And if some person was interested and wanted more detail I will provide it to the best of my ability. I bought this car at night without good lighting and the next day was still impressed with its shape. A trunk is a trunk and this one is rust free and not worn, even has the original tool kit. The story is the same: Family owned since new. You can't count my ownership because I have only had it a month. This is a Houston car, Lady-owned since new. It has spent most of its life in a garage with a car cover. All the door panels inside are in good shape, electric windows work, vents work, door locks work, all gauges work, clock is a little slow. Glass is perfect, wood is ok, one corner of the top pc is warped a little (from defrost?), AC is ice cold and blower works without noise. Tranny shifts just fine. Brakes are tight, front end exellent with new joints/shocks/tires. It rides very tight. Steering wheel is black and no cracks or wear. Carpet is intact with a couple holes in the removable pc's in the front. Carpet has not been soiled and is the original dark green. Headliner intact with no tears. W/W's work perfect and floor button works. A couple minor dings/scratches on the body. Original paint that still looks ok as is. If I were to keep the car a paint and front muffler and 1 pc of wood would be my only things needed to make it very nice. Undercarrige is good, no signs of rust. Two teeni weeni rust holes or bubble in paint on left front fender near front door and a bubble on the hood (from battery fumes). The car has been MB serviced or by expert from new. Black leather seats perfect. Has hole in front muffler, but not too loud. Engine runs excellent with pleny of power, no smoke, no leak, no overheat/good oil pressure, does not comsume oil. I believe this is original 84K. All lights work. Chrome excellent. Doors work like a tight MB should. All rubber and trim intact and ok. Horn works. Passes state inspection. Any questions contact me for more detail. I can't think of anything else to comment on. I owned a 71 220 back when it was just a few years old and it was like new. Then a 85 300D and it was like new. Now this one that is 39 years old and it has held up well. We really don't want to sell it. But cash right now would be better than having a Sunday classic that I really don't need. We have a 99 C280 that is like new and it is paid for. So we still get to ride like we want. It will drive anywhere, clear title and current tags. 281-564-4922[8D] |
