i am hoping to find a 1982 - 1985 300d or 300td with low mileage and a 5 spd. transmission to mate to it. i am interested mainly in the engine (617.952) and transmission...body (240d with transplanted 617.952, 300d, 300td, etc...) is unimportant to me (rust, dents, fading, etc...) as i am not picky about looks. i want a reliable car able to run on svo/wvo at speeds of 70+ and enjoys m.p.g. @ 30+. i would buy an automatic, but only at the right price and only in order to transplant a 5 spd. into it. thanks for any information, everyone.
