Default Where is g182 is located? (tranny/shifting problem)

All,
We own a 2002 ML230 that has been nothing but trouble since we bought it lightly used in 2002.
It’s latest problem is that it won’t shift out of first gear. It won’t shift all in fact. All of the usual suspects have been eliminated, filters, fluid etc. No joy!
The most we have been able to find out is that a sensor “g182” is to blame. Our problem is we can’t figure out where sensor g182 is located.
Can anyone out there help us out?
Thanks!
mjd
PS. It’s going over a cliff before a dealer gets it yet AGAIN.
