v-belts

Hi all,

I've been to the local autopart stores around town for replacement v-belts for
the generator and PS.

Everybody has a different size and none of them fit.

Anybody know what the correct size is?

Thanks

George

What is "local" for you?
My local autopart stores all have tools to measure the old belt size, for exact replacement.

Autozone, napa, pep boys.

Unfortunately the waterpump seized and broke that belt and the PS belt was the wrong size so I had to cut it to get it off. I can't bring it to the shop so I need to rely on their information. I have 3 blets over here the WP belt it too tight and the 2 ps belts are too small and too big.

PepBoys?
Those guys in TN took over 1 HR (3 senior mechanics with supervisor) to misroute the serpentine belt on my Mercedes. They gave me some BS about bad tensioner for the excuse why the belt slips. Since I was on the road, I took the car and my wife followed my motorhome to campground, what took replacing drained battery on the way.
The following morning took me 10 minutes to find routing diagram in the manual and put it right.
Anyway. Since you have one bell too short and other too long, than you need something between. Do you know how to read the belts?
The first sign gives you the width, the second the length. I think all belt sold in US are marked in metric system.
