I have a 1993 E200 Auto with 288000 on the clock. We have grown old together! Recently I have had a surge in power when I start up and whenever I pull off. The revs go from 800 to 1200 and back etc. I've replaced plugs and leads but to no avail. With each surge bI have to hold back on the breaks!
Any Ideas

 

can be an intake air leak or unmetered air.

check it first.
