I have a decision to make and I need help
I have done a lot of research and I have found that, arguably, the 560 SEL is one of the most reliable and most comfortable Mercedes around. I am picking up my 1987 560 SEL next week and am very excited about it. However, my wife has found a 450 SLC for sale close to our home. The 560 has 138000 miles and a few problems with a little rust on the driver's door below the body moldings and behind the driver's rear wheel well. The a/c does not work and it also needs a pair of valve cover gaskets. The 450 SLC is rust free, has 150000 miles, and seems to be problem free otherwise. I want some opinions about which would give me the most life and most fun.
Thanks you for your input. |

560. Just get the rust fixed so you don't look bad. Lol
Good luck |

Yes, I plan to get the rust fixed very soon. I worry about the body shops ability to match the silver paint, but if they get it really close I will be satisfied. I will charge the a/c as well and see if that is all that is wrong with it.
