Default 82 240D Standard Transmission SHIFTER

I have a perfectly operating 1982 240D with about 140,000 miles on odometer. Have had to replace parts as age has set in...never ending but love the car and it is in great nick.

My standard tranny shifter/gear box is no longer working properly. It seizes up and gets stuck in one gear or another and does not release when clutching. Had good MB mechanic check it out and was informed that he greased it up, adjusted the linkage, but that this OEM part is no longer made or available to replace and I will have to take my chances. This fix worked for about a day before same problem surfaced. Cannot drive car without a fix that is permanent.

Any suggestions on how I go about getting what I have to work properly and/or where I might find the appropriate part for replacement of this shifter for my car?????? Don't have the funds to buy a new/used car right now and really need to fix this thing before the holidays. Presently out of work and looking for a new job. Thanks.
