1968 250S "Hot Rod"

I have a 1968 250S. I am looking for parts for it, such as the
interior wood trim, exterior lights, etc. I would appreciate any info
someone could provide me.

This is a fascinating car that we are in the process
of "restoring"/"enhancing".

I would also love to hear from anyone who has had any dealings
in "modifications" to this particular year/style. We completely
changed out the driveline (the original motor was unsalvageable), and
changed it over to a high performance 229 chevy v6, with a 350 turbo
tranny with shift kit, and a 1976 corvette (independent suspension)
rear end. Honestly, although I hated losing the "originality" of the
car, I feel the conversion was the best thing we ever did for it. It
is a much more reliable, fun driving, and mechanically sound vehicle
than it ever was before the overhaul. It's honestly a hoot.... and
the looks we get when we pop the hood! WHEW! What a riot! Needless to
say though, it has been an "interesting" change-over. Again, I'd love
to hear from anyone who has had any dealings with such a conversion,
or anyone who might be in the process of such a conversion, or even
considering it. Would love to share tricks, tips, and stories.

Thanks!

what a nice car you got there.
back in the philippines, i can still a few of them lying on the junk yard and you can get the reasonable parts that you need.
when the americans left the subic naval base years ago, they sell their cars for almost free, and until now you can find them on second hand car sales showroom.
i got some parts from there for the '59 cadillac for my arab friend years ago too.

I have found that you can actually buy alot of parts from places, such as the Philippines, much cheaper (even including the shipping to the US) than you can buy them here. Problem is locating the salvage yards. If you have any leads/names/numbers, I would appreciate it.......

in quezon city there is a saulo second hand car garage there. or you can go to any second hand car sales, and from that point, you will be asking for the right direction. these people knows where to get what you want, and will even accompany you. all are so cheap and no rip-offs.

next time i'll go there for holiday i'll inform you. you need engine too?

Thank you very much for your help! I appreciate it.

As far as the engine goes, no we don't need one. We have replaced the original Mercedes engine with a Chevy 229, and it has already been completely rebuilt and installed. ;)

Thanks again!

Dave
