190E Nose dive!
 

I have a nice old 190E petrol 1.8 manual but I am finding it difficult to make a smooth take-off. Just as I let the clutch out the power drops to nothing so the nose dives then it takes off like a kangaroo. The car has a horrible flat spot just in the rev range you need for pulling away. I can get a reasonably smooth take off by revving hard and letting the clutch out carefully but this makes me look like a bit of a plonker in this slow old Merc. I like to make a slow and steady take off as befits this old girl. Incidentally I used to have a Merc 200 carburettor model which did the same. What problem am I cursed with?
