If you're interested, here's link to my photo gallery. The picswere ad photos taken by the dealer. I bought it about three months ago. No, I wouldn't pay $120K fora new one. No way, no how.

I was looking for a daily beater car. I had decided on a one or two-year-old Honda since I owned a Honda in the past and had very good luck with it. So, I'm shopping for that irresistible Honda and I stumble across this SL600.

I sat in it for hoots and realized it's cheaper than the Honda I'm searching for. Nothing I looked at after that excited me anywhere near as much, of course. And you know what? It was cheaper than the Hondas I was looking at, albeitseven or eight years older, but it was also50-times the car.

If you saw the SL, you'd agree that it's in top condition. The only thing I consider wrong is the/a previous owner put tons ofswirl marks in the paint. I can fix it, but it will take a lot of elbow grease. I really don't care about the headlight wiper not working and crap like that. The interior and drivetrain are perfect. This car has NO rattles. There's a little wind noise with the soft top but none with the hard top. It was well made and it's stillshowing it.

It purrs like a kitten when I drive civilly, then roars like araginglion when I get on it. This is truly anexhilarating car, even though it has a hint of understeer in steroid mode. It's enough tokeep me from pushing it really hard. I need to correct that understeer. It has plenty of power to kick the butt end aroundusing the throttle, but I've been driving on public roads and I ain't crazy enough to drift around corners on openpublic roads. Did you know this car has no cupholder?

Inoticed something for the first time as I was uploading the pics. My wheels are not the wheels in the pics. I have 17" MBchrome wheels that look much different, and better, IMO. The '95 SL600 came with 16" wheels. Are those the originals in the pics?

The weird thing is I have an SL600 for a daily beater. Life is good.

I will agree that this is a nice looking SL - wish I had been
looking for one when I stumbled on my 190 ... I was also
out looking for a Honda when I found my MB...

So I see you added an '03 JD in green to your sig - did ya get
a new toy???

Thanks.

I've had the JD since early last summer. It's my lawn tractor, but it corners like a Ferrari (BTW, I've never driven a Ferrari) and it runs on pump gas and it's been modified with the numerous performance partsdecals I'vecollected over the years (would neverstick 'em on my cars), so I thought I should add it to my sig to getit right upto the 200 character limit.

Added one pick of the Chevelle and one of the Bel Air. Doing the math, I removed two of the SL.
