are EURO SPEC bi-xenons illegal in the US?
 

I heard that the Euro SPEC bi-xenon HID headlights are much better than the USA SPEC. Is it illegal to have Euro SPEC bi-xenon HIDs in the United States? Does anybody know this? I would imagine it is, but it's still worth asking arouond.

my guess would be yes but they would have to stop you and it would be a state by state choice if i could get them i would!!!

Nothing aftermarket modification is legal. Normally they wouldnt stop you for bixenon but if you drive wrecklessly then they have a reason to stop you. Nowaday, you see all sort of mod but no cops care unless you wrecklessly.

So if I get Euro spec bi-xenons, then would the police have any way of knowing just by spotting me? I know MB fanatics can tell the difference between US and Euro specs, but do you think the cops can? Did anybody ever hear of anyone doing a Euro spec bi-xenon mod in the US? In other words, would you advise against me doing this?

The X5 has an option of bi-xeons. They're not going to stop you solely on having different lights. I mean a lot of ricers have super bright lights and they don't get pulled over for it.
