Crash test for MB Smart Car

MB has a line of cars called Smart. They are slowly finding their way to the States through importer Zap. (MB plans a full intro next year or the year after-not sure)

So, they're really small (think original Morris mini-minor), good on gas (50mpg) and decently road worthy; according to the reviews.

But are they safe?

Check out what happens in a crash test between a Smart Car and a Mercedes S-Class. Which car would you want to be in?

I don't think the smart four two will be a big seller, one because of safety concerns and two because of looks...but I can see the for four being a Prius competitor if it's getting 40 mpg or so.

That makes sense. You might be right.

I don't really think that I'll be buying one, much less driving one. Thanx but no thanx.

I first saw these cars in Germany in '01. I think they're cool for commuting. They even go fairly well on the autobahn. I'd buy one, they're cute. That's right...I said cute!:D

Let me ask you guys this...how many times have you come to a great parking space but because of some moron who can't park in the alotted space, left you little room. These cars are great for parking. AND, you pay less for ferry transport. Not that we have much ferry transporting here in the States, but anyway.
