What is it? Found in El Paso, TX
 

I was driving down used car alley and spotted this old Mercedes sitting in the back lot of a dealer. On inspection, it only had a bit of rust through around the rear wheel wells and the floorboards looked very good. Someone had removed the deck lid model number and had covered the holes, and the door handles were missing. I suspect it was

The interior was remarkably intact, leather with cloth inserts, although covered with dust and grime. Someone nabbed the driver's side headlamp assembly. The man said there was a drive-train in there and make him an offer. It was last registered/inspected locally in west Texas in 2001.

I am not offering this car for sale, only posting out of curiosity and comments.
