Trunk lid switch E-320
I own a 1998 E-320.Since November my battery runs down a lot. Sometimes the trunk lid pops up, It is charging just fine as i measured voltage across the battery with the engine running and got 13.8 v.
The Benz agency says its the trunk lid switch is bad-maybe food or drink spill.
It can be replaced for $675 they say. They say the entire panel has to be replaced which includes all the other switches.
Can the switch be cleaned with contact cleaner?
Can that single switch be removed an replaced?
Is it reasonable to buy a used panel (since my dealer says he has never replaced one before-they must be relaible).
