Squeaky suspension??
I have really squeaky suspension when turning the steering wheel. Any ideas what it may be please? Car is E220 1995 with Genuine 80K miles on clock and is in A1 condition and family owned form new so know the history.
I know the set up on this car is complicated; the issue must be to do with the change in camber as wheel turns. Noise happens when wheel is turned from about 50% of its movement to full 100% and sounds like rubber being squashed and compressed and twisted.
Things tried so far include: - Removal of the track rod end and noise continues and then replaced the shock absorber but still the same issue with new one. I can only think it’s the mount at top of shock absorber where it meets the body / chassis. I can feel a slight vibration here when the noise is present when testing by turning the steering wheel L/R directions. I don't think that it’s Anti roll bars & bushes as they have been flooded with WD40 grease and this has not remedy the issue.
Has anyone has similar issues and can they advise if I should attempt myself the change of the mount at top of shock absorber to chassis. My concern is that there is some kind of special set up of this mount once replaced. Is it hard to do and maybe are there any local ESSEX garage / Merc specialist (NOT Main dealer) that will look at doing this job for me?
Thanks in advance!!

Hello Nick.
Yes just had this issue today. After an hour lubricating all the front suspension bushes with silicon spray it turned out to be the top bushes on the suspension leg. ( MacPherson Strut). Lubed it in the normal running position and it cured the issue. Happy daze.
